I have a roman tub and had a drip – plumber came and took the cartridges out and told me to replace – got the replacements, but when I put them in I still have the leak (actually worse) – I tightened them as much as I could. It is newport brass 1-004 (hot). Any ideas? Should there be something else I need to add like rubber washers? How do I know it’s tight enough?
I put the old hot water cartridge into the cold water (the cold water was the dripping one) – and now the leaking has stopped – so I am thinking either I have the wrong cartridge or a defective one.
