Plumbing Basics – Fixing a Leaky Faucet
Need helping repairing kitchen faucet.?
I’ve been trying to figure out how to fix my kitchen sink, but it’s really hard to fix something for which you don’t even know the name of the part. i’ll try to explain it as clearly as possible:
I need to find a replacement outside threaded hollow cylinder that screws into the base of a kitchen faucet (a Price Pfister faucet) that extends out the bottom of the faucet by about 3″ (it’s about 3.5″ in total length including the portion of the cylinder that screws into the bottom of the fucet base). This cylinder has three copper tubes that extend out the bottom. 2 copper tubes go to the hot and cold supply lines and 1 copper tube goes to the pull-out sprayer (I hope that’s clear enough. It’s nothing really extravagent; it’s a pretty standard faucet).
And if finding this part wasn’t trouble enough, I have to make new connections for the copper tubing that attaches to the braided supply lines. I plan on using copper compression connections with one side threaded to connect to the braided tubing. Is that the best approach, or is there some other method that is preferred?
dripping in the faucet?
there is dripping in the faucet. When I turned off the cold water side, there is no more dripping.I mean the incoming water of the cold water. I assume that the hot side is fine. Now, if that is the case, where is the leak comes from? Which part of the faucet should I be looking or repairing?
What would cause my kitchen faucet to have a large sound and flow of water stop when turned on?
Hot or cold water, when the handle is turned on, there is a loud studdering noise and the water will stop, I may have to turn on and off a few times to get it to go. Some time back seen a show on HGTV about repairs and it showed about this but I have no idea what it is. It has progressed and now I need to fix it, we try to handle repairs ourselves so if anyone can help me please do.
